Ladies of LEX: Amelia

Meet Amelia, our LEX Nightclub host extraordinaire!

Where are you from?

"I am originally from Anchorage, Alaska but I’ve lived in Reno almost 5 years now pursuing degrees in Community Health Sciences, Communication Studies, and a minor in Business at UNR."

What are a few of your hobbies?

"In my free time I enjoy getting outside to ski, swim, or just take a walk. I also love getting a good cup of coffee with friends, preferably over brunch because I’m not a morning person, but love breakfast food. Going on road trips to the bay area or lake Tahoe with my boyfriend Tyler is another one of my favorite ways to escape. And lastly, I love to unwind with a good movie or show, especially on Sundays after a crazy few days at LEX!"

How long have you been at LEX?

"I’ve worked at LEX for a little under 2 months."

What’s your favorite part about hosting?

"My hands down favorite part of hosting is getting to interact with people from so many different walks of life."

Favorite LEX performer to date?

"One of my favorite artists is G-Eazy. He actually came to LEX before I worked here, but I did still get to see him perform, and I hope he comes back!"

Explain a normal day in the life of Amelia.

"No day is exactly the same for me. I like to stay busy, and definitely have to get a little creative to balance my job at LEX, course load, and internship with having a life. A few things I like to make part of my everyday routine that keep me sane are, pilates, playing with my puppies between classes, and reading something for fun each day, even if it’s just one of those addictive Buzzfeed articles."

What’s one thing you’re most passionate about?

"I’m really passionate about living in the present and taking advantage of new experiences. In fact, it was this exact mentality that connected me with LEX nightclub and this exciting opportunity. I encourage others to live life to the fullest, and I can’t wait to see what comes next for me at LEX."
